Following on from the release in March 2022 of Creek's remix/retrospective collection "Fake Leopard Coat", the band has been issuing its archive on Bandcamp. This is the 18th of almost 40 planned releases in the ongoing celebration of the 25th (now the 26th) anniversary of the Edinburgh Electronic Improvisational Quartet, which comprises Alan Brodie (Language Lab), Stuart Cobley (Ex-Capital Models), David Reilly (Cloudland Blue Quartet) and Craig Sutherland (Edward Spark). The records, LPs, EPs and singles, were mostly recorded live in the studio, with no overdubs, with sessions taking place between 1997 and 2019. They are being released in chronological order. Following the end of the Reptile Records sessions, reached with Creek XVII, this is the first compilation from the group, which brings together concise versions of pieces recorded during the first 9 sessions at Reptile.

"End of the Art World Volume One" is the first of two twenty-eight track collections of concise versions of recordings made at Reptile Records by electronic improvisational quartet Creek. This first volume covers the period 1 June to 19 October 1997, the full length versions of these pieces can be found on the records Creek I to Creek IX, which were released on Bandcamp between April and December 2022, as part of the 25 year anniversary celebrations of the group.
